Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

In the summer of 2024, I worked as a Graphic Design Intern for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as part of their in-house marketing team. I contributed to a variety of marketing collateral for their summer season, including print mailers, key art, magazine advertisements, email headers, and interactive kiosk designs. Collaborating with a team of graphic designers, I adhered to brand guidelines while demonstrating strong attention to detail in typography, spacing, and composition. This experience strengthened my ability to design within an established visual system while still contributing creative solutions.

Music Box Concert Series Key Art

One project where I was really able to utilize my personal style was the key art for one of the BSO’s concert series called Music Box. These concerts are meant to introduce the world of classical music to children. With this being the theme, I combined one of my key skills, which is collaging, with targeting a young audience to design these key art collages. I themed each concert key art to have a central color from the brand guidelines, and used collage elements to reinforce the central color theme.

Frozen in Concert Print Mailer

One of the most exciting projects I was in charge of designing was the Frozen in Concert print mailer. This project required a focus on the composition and arrangement of the assets and copy I was given to work with. Typography, hierarchy, and spacing all had an impact on the result. The final product was mailed to all subscribers of BSO.

Bethesda Magazine Full Page Ad

This project was a full page ad in the Bethesda Magazine, for the 2024-2025 season of BSO. I was responsible for arranging the photographs that recapped all the categories of concerts BSO had in a season, as well as adhering to branding guidelines and perfecting typography.

Interactive Kiosk Experience Ad

This project I designed was called an Ike, or an interactive kiosk experience. It was a moving, animated advertisement promoting BSO’s series of summer concerts called SummerFest. The final product was installed into a kiosk and played amongst other ads.
